A short piece about the plant science sector/industry in your country:
In different regions of Russian Federation all studies related to Plant Science are carried out in scientific institutions which are coordinate by the Russian Academy of Sciences. The Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations (FASO Russia) supervises the activities of scientific institutions. In research institutes genetic, breeding, biotechnological, bioengineering, physiological, biochemical and embryological studies are performed. In addition, researches are go in the field of plant protection, flora and vegetation studies. Successful results were obtained in the field of plant biotechnology: the discovery of the mechanisms of organogenesis and somatic embryogenesis of a number of fruit, ornamental and aromatic plants; the development of recipient systems; the physiological and biochemical study of plant adaptation in conditions in vitro to stressors of various nature; the acceleration of the breeding process; the production of transgenic plants with predetermined characteristics; creation of gene pool collections in vitro and cryopreservation of valuable plant cultivars and species of cereals, vegetables, ornamentals, essential oil, aroma and medical culture, temporal and subtropical fruits, berries, natural flora, rare and relict endemics, etc.
